Fantastic restaurant!”

Having dined many times in this establishment I am always pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food served and by the warm and relaxed welcome of the owners. I love the fact that despite the chef being French, he always promote the local produces and we have been introduced to some fabulous local cheeses and sampled some of the best mussels I have ever eaten.
I cannot recommend this fantastic restaurant enough!
Fabulous fish!”

Just managed to try this restaurant after hearing great things, it lived up to expectations with fresh perfectly cooked fish, really worth a try if you are in the area

On our recent gastronomic tour around this beautiful part of Devon, we visited for the second time, as we visited last year, this beautifully decorated almost shabby chic restaurant. We were certainly not disappointed this time round. The staff are extremely polite and curteous aswell as making you feel comfortable,As for the food, we have eaten in five star establishments and this little place is up there with them. Absolutely delicious and at the end of the evening you receive a visit from chef and owner Olivier, who not only really wants to know your thoughts but is a really friendly guy also.

Brilliant menu, fish cooked to perfection, great staff, good choice of wine at reasonable prices.

If you are passionate about fresh fish and seafood then you should eat here. A simple restaurant tucked away down a sidestreet, plainly decorated does not immediately scream quality on first glance. However, the short menu comprises dishes such as lemon sole cooked in butter, turbot in champagne sauce, seared scallops and a fish soup made from scratch and not a bought in concentrate. The fish is very lightly cooked. For those not as keen on fish there are a couple of other options such as duck. Having spoken to the owner/chef a lot of attention is paid to buying fresh produce from the fishing boats at Brixham. Delicious local Devon cheeses are also on the menu as an alternative to pudding. The wine list is focused, reasonably priced and includes more unusual grape varietals such as Picpoul from Languedoc, France. If you want a loud environment this is not the place for you , if however, you prefer high quality ingredients, simply prepared and presented then make the trip as we did from Oxford, you will not be disappointed.

We reserved here for my aunt's 75th, based on the reviews here, and were not at all disappointed. The starters and main were excellent, and good value for money, and there was a great choice of wine too. After our meal, the chef, Olivier also came and had a long chat to see how things had been, what we thought...More

We recently bought a holiday home in Exmouth in late March and regularly visit at weekends, but this was our first proper two weeks summer vacation. We ate at Les Saveurs whilst on Tuesday 2nd August after viewing the amazing reviews on TripAdvisor and checking out the online menu. My wife and I and our two boys (12 and 15)...More

Our son and daughter-in-law took my wife and me here for a special dinner to celebrate our Golden Wedding. Because of the popularity of this restaurant, they had to book a table later than we would have liked, but the wait was very well worth it. Service was courteous, unobtrusive and efficient and the food was outstandingly good. One very...More

Stayed in Exmouth for one night and Les Saveurs was recommended by the hotel. The service was friendly without being overpowering, the restaurant was spotlessly clean, and the food was excellent. We eat the next day at Rick Steins Seafood Restaurant and "Les Saveurs" can easily hold it's own when it comes to the food. One small criticism - the...More

I came here for a friends birthday, there was 8 of us in total. Firstly I want to say I am not a fan of seafood but this place is incredible. I ordered Whole Tiger Prawns for my starter (having only tried prawns once before). They were so amazing. I've eaten prawns at a Chinese restaurant in Plymouth (Beijing Noodle...More

If you like good food, this restaurant is a real gem. Close to the centre of Exmouth. The food is French as the chef is French but is fussy about using locally sourced food. My fiancée and I spent considerable time looking for a 'special' local East Devon restaurant at which to celebrate our engagement with my family.I must confess however that I did not expect to find somehwere of the demonstrable calibre of Les Saveurs on our very doorstep in Exmouth! Hello there, just wanted to add our appreciation of your sumptious little restaurant. We stayed briefly in Exmouth and enjoyed our own little selection from the starters menu both nights – simply divine seafood. We’ll certainly be back next time we’re in the area, and you’re perhaps the first place that we’ve found in years that we thought we could recommend to Katie’s brother!

Great Breton Cuisine in Exmouth. What a very pleasant surprise to find a really good fish restaurant in Exmouth. The chef Olivier is as passionate about his dishes as you would expect a native Breton with flair to be whilst his wife Sheila is a cordial and efficient front to the business. The fish soup was mouth-wateringly good and the brill cooked to perfection. Great sea food complemented by delicate sauces and flavours all served with a lovely mix of 'el dente' vegetables. Looking around I saw other really good looking fare including juicy steaks for those not wanting sea food. The meal was fairly priced at about £25 (ex-wine) and worth every penny. Wine was reasonably priced as well. The only serious regret I have is that I discovered the restaurant at the end of my holiday.

Best meal I've had in ages! This is a wonderful restaurant in Exmouth. Run by French chef, Olivier, and his wife. Fresh fish, superb steaks, delicious duck, - mouth watering sauces, huge bowls of moules mariniéres all sourced locally by Olivier. Pretty little "shabby chic" restaurant and the food all reasonably priced, about £6.50 for starters and about £16 for the main courses. Tried to persuade him to open a restaurant near us!! Do go - you won't be disappointed!!

We can highly recommend this treasure of a restaurant which we recently found on a visit to Exmouth. The menu is varied and interesting (including a couple of meat dishes for non-fish lovers) and the food mouthwateringly delicious (an amazing blend of flavours in every dish). It is a small family- run restaurant with an amazing chef, Olivier, who is passionate about food. The fish is to die for - beautifully presented and cooked. We can honestly say that this is the best meal we have had in a very long time and such good value for money. The restaurant is certainly worthy of a michelin star. There is a very warm and friendly atmosphere with excellent service. (We were served by Olivier's son who gave us some interesting information about the history of the restaurant and his dad's passion for food.) We would highly recommend this restaurant.

A very big 'thank you' to Olivier and his lovely family for looking after us so well on New Years Eve.The attention to detail was a delight. The personal touch of this small exquisite restaurant has to be experienced to appreciate.
From where I was sitting I could look through the door into the kitchen. A real privilege to watch the passion of a true professional chef at work. It was worth the bill for that alone. Olivier even sat down with us at the end of the evening and discussed some of his recipes and techniques. What a bonus that is. I have already tried to copy his Scallop mouse. It was good, but not as good as his.
The fixed eight course menu for that evening was spectacular. As near perfect as one could imagine, including the wine recommendation which was both superb and reasonably priced If you haven't tried this little 'gem'. Give yourself a treat. We are hoping to be there for Valentines Night, Christmas day lunch, and no doubt several others in between.

My husband and I visited the restaurant a couple of weeks ago whilst on a short break from London. The menu was first class and it was hard to choose, but everything we had was fantastic and I we would recommend the restaurant to anyone in the area.

Special, luxurious, elegant, quality, tasty - all words to describe a fantastic experience at Les Saveurs. My partner and I visited the restaurant a few weeks ago whilst on holiday from London and were very impressed with the standard of food at a reasonable price. The food choices were well selected allowing you to try something that bit different and the quality of the fish and duck especially were first class. Desserts were also a little different to your usual selection and definitely worth trying. I would certainly recommend this restaurant and it’s just a shame it’s a 4 hour drive from London!

Last Wednesday evening we had a wonderful meal in your restaurant. We feel we would like to thank you and congratulate you.
I have only recently discovered Scallops having had some, a long time ago which were like rubber balls! The combination of the cauliflower puree and the cumin volute was wonderful but so subtle. Mike had the kidneys which he enjoyed. We, then both had the turbot as it was a celebration. Again we relished every mouthful.
Thank you for a memorable meal.

Just discovered Olivier and Sheila Guyard-mulkerrin’s restaurant in Exmouth … and it’s a real find.
They are clearly serious and passionate about the food they serve and this comes across in the menu choices, the meals they prepare and the ambience of the restaurant itself.
There is a small but well thought through menu, focusing on fish but including some meat dishes, providing an excellent choice for everyone.
Carol and Mairead had the locally-sourced Turbot with a champagne and mushroom sauce and found it as good as served in many top London restaurants. Ron had the delicious Marinated Creedy Carver Magret of Duck (sourced from Crediton).
To complete the meal there was an excellent range of starters and a very acceptable dessert menu.
The family-run “Les Saveurs” is a great alternative to the fine dining restaurants in Exeter.
Now that we have discovered it we will definitely be back soon. And we recommend it to others who enjoy fine cuisine.

We're reasonably local and had read the reviews so decided to try it out. As lovers of fish and French cuisine we were not disappointed. Scallops with a delicious seafood sauce, excellent fresh fish fillets with mash and vegetables, and the most wonderful chocolate parfait! This is how food should be! Service was good too. We thought we were back in France. All this in a simple and unpretentious atmosphere. This restaurant deserves to be supported!

Dear Sheila and Olivier,
just a quick note to thank you both for a perfect evening at your restaurant. To cater as you did for my party of 25 very discerning guests without a single complaint ( which, when you know my friends ) is quite an achievement.
Not only was the food superb, the wine balanced and the service immaculate but the price was also quite modest.
Excellent value. And that is from an ex-pat brit now living and dining in France.
Thanks again and don't change a thing as we shall certainly be back.
Kind regards, Chas Hall. Merignac, 16200, France.

Found a little treasure in the back streets of Exmouth, Devon called Les Saveurs. I believe it's a family run restaurant, we commented on the quality of the food to our waitress, Sheila, who at the end of the evening asked her husband to visit our table. Olivier, a Frenchman, thanked us for our kind remarks and we quickly discovered how passionate he is over quality food. As I'm a lover of good fresh fish dishes-we will definitely return

Thank you so much for the wonderful gastronomic experience, Olivier. My partner and I were delighted and amazed by Les Saveurs and agreed that it was the best meal we had had in a restaurant in ages and certainly up to Michelin stars standard!
He had the salmon and prawn gateau to start with and it was mouth-watering, pretty on the plate and luscious on the palate! I had the fish soup, which was to die for and reminded me so much of the ones I have enjoyed in Brittany. For mains he had the duck, which was moist and tasted like it was free range, tender and full of flavour. I had fresh locally caught fish, which I love and so rarely get the chance to eat when out.The saffron and mussel chowder that went with it was a yummy work of art. We both loved all the elegant and delicious trimmings.
We had planned to do without pudding but could not resist and were not disappointed.
We had wines by the glass, which gave us the chance to try different ones. These were very good and excellent value, as was the whole meal.
The decor and atmosphere was lovely and the service efficient and friendly.
What a delight it is to have a place to go to in Exmouth. We shall certainly recommend Les Saveurs to our friends and family.
With kind regards and very best wishes for much deserved success in the
future,

Les Saveurs is the finest seafood restaurant in Exmouth and serves some of the best cuisine you will find anywhere in the South. We ate there twice in one week as the food was outstanding. The restaurant is tucked
away in a side street but search it out for a gastronomic experience that you will savour. The award winning chef, Olivier, runs a family team and the atmosphere is intimate. We both have dietary restrictions but the menu was adapted to suit our needs and on our second visit a new dish had been created for us to match our diets.
We dined on 1st & 4th April 2008.
